While the most common type of acne is the one that occurs on the face, there is still one that is rarely talked about; butt acne.

Have you heard of it before or rather have you experienced it first hand?

A quick google search on butt acne shows that it is caused by inflammation of hair follicles which is scientifically referred to as folliculitis. This can be caused by an infection from bacteria, yeast, fungus, irritation or blockage of hair follicles.

Now you are in the know.

Just like other forms of acne, butt acne is treatable at home. If you however feel that the acne is still not going away even after the home remedy, consult your physician for further treatment.

Here are some home remedies you could try to get rid of butt acne:

Loosen your clothing

In case you did not know, yoga pants, leggings, skin tight jeans, and other close-fitting pants can trap moisture against the skin.

That said, it only makes sense if you limit how often you wear these garments.

Shower immediately after exercising

Yes. I’m sure you have heard this time and time again and it may sound too cliché by now. The key word here is immediately.

Sweat that gets trapped in the skin and then dries can create room for bacteria to grow. That is enough reason for you to take a shower immediately you get home from the gym, a run or from generally exercising.

Be aware of skin irritants

Most, if not all of us, are allergic to something. Certain chemicals with the example of perfumes and laundry detergents may cause irritation to your skin hence result to butt acne.

It is always advisable to consult a doctor in as far as the products you are meant to use on your skin are concerned to avoid unnecessary damage.

Other home remedies that can quickly get rid of butt acne include exfoliating, using zinc creams and using tea tree oil that treats different skin infections.
