Other times, hair loss comes as a result of hormonal changes. Some women experience conditions like postpartum shedding which causes hair to thin out. For this reason, be sure you identify the root cause of your hair problems.

If you’ve experienced hair loss and want to know how you can naturally regrow it, here are a few essential tips worth exploring.

Massaging your scalp for a few minutes, a couple of times a week is actually enough to boost your hair journey (Shutterstock)
  1. Scalp massage

Massaging your scalp can boost your hair growth significantly. It helps to stimulate your follicles and promote blood flow to your scalp. Doing this for a few minutes, a couple of times a week is actually enough to boost your hair journey. Ensure that you do it gently, especially around the edges and soon, you’ll see a huge difference.

  1. Castor oil

Castor oil is one of the best solutions for hair loss and thinning hair. It contains fatty acids and other components that your hair will love. The best castor oil to use is a pure one that hasn’t been processed, which will give your hair the vitamins it needs. Typical of castor oil, its consistency can make it a little hard to work with. If this is the case, you can mix it with lighter oils like coconut oil or almond oil which also have great benefits for your hair.

  1. Low manipulation

Show your hair love by avoiding tight hairstyles and constant manipulation. Tight weaves and braids will pull out your strands from the roots and, with time, bald spots will start to appear. Constant manipulation will also disturb the growth process so it’s best to avoid constant brushing, tugging and pulling. Since your hair is delicate, the best thing to do is to choose simple hairstyles that don’t stress your hair and those that don’t need constant manipulation. Simply leaving your hair alone and taking care of it, as usual, will help your hair grow back.

  1. Onion juice treatment

Onions are also one of the most essential remedies for hair loss. They nourish your hair with sulphur and keratin which are important for healthy-looking hair. One of the effective ways to use it is by cutting one into small cubes, blending it and then straining the pulp to get the juice. The next step is to apply it generously to the bald areas and massage it in to allow the juice to do its work.

Lastly, cover your hair with a shower cap and wait for about an hour before rinsing it off. Remember to mix the juice with some lavender oil, lemon juice or even peppermint oil to mask the strong onion smell. Do this often and your hair will grow.

  1. Stress management

Being constantly stressed isn’t good for your hair because it can cause hair loss. Topical remedies and balanced diets won’t be as effective if you’re not taking care of yourself emotionally. Try and find healthy ways to relieve stress in addition to taking care of your hair as you normally would. Eliminating stress is one of the direct ways to help your hair grow again.
