Two childhood sweethearts have found love 40 years on after reuniting on Facebook.
John Burn, 50, and Lisa Reveley, 51, first met at primary school and quickly became friends.
But they went to different secondary schools around 1979, and since got married and had children with their partners.
Hull Live reports, though, they've now reunited using Facebook and fallen in love with each other.
Their marriages had broken down over the years and now John and Lisa are looking forward to their first Christmas as a couple.
"I used to think about him on occasion, like, 'What's he up to?' I never thought I would actually meet him again," Lisa, who lives in west Hull, said.
"We met up for a coffee and we clicked straight away and we've been seeing each other ever since.
"Even though we were children the last time we saw each other, it's like we've never been apart."
John said: "I think we had a mutual friend. I remember exactly what the first message I wrote was. I said, 'Hello Lisa, how are you doing? It's John Burn, I've not seen you for 40 years. How are you doing?'"
The dad-of-one, of east Hull, found a photograph recently of he and Lisa as children. He showed it to her on one of their first dates in November.
"I used to always be at his house. We grew up together and was each other's first girlfriend and boyfriend. It was so good to see him again and I recognised him straight away, he looks the same but older," said Lisa, who works in healthcare.
"We spent seven hours together on that first date. We had 39 years to catch up.
"We both knew the first time we met up again we will be getting back together.
"It's like a dream and doesn't feel real. It feels like I have to pinch myself. After such a c*** year it's unbelievable really how bad it's been and to end up like this, really happy.
"For Christmas this year I was going to stay in bed all day and didn't want to see anyone as it would have been the first year I've been on my own but it has turned around.
"2020 is going to be our year."
And John, who works in the public sector, said before meeting up with Lisa again he had "got into a rut" and hadn't had a date in a while, but was happy on his own.
He added: "I was getting to the point where I was wondering if I was ever going to meet someone. They always say it comes when you're least expecting it. It was just amazing and it has knocked me for six really. We spend an hour and a half on the phone together every night.
"It could have been so different if I hadn't clicked on her profile. I'm looking forward to what's to come. I just know we're getting stronger and stronger.
"I don't usually believe in fate, but this is fate."
