Entertainment

With all that society expects of us as women, it is sometimes hard for us to be confident in our bodies. However, there comes a time when you need to make yourself a priority regardless of what other people have to say about you.

Anerlisa Muigai, the Keroche heiress has a word of advice for women who are struggling with self-esteem issues. The lass has been in the public eye while being on a weight loss journey and even though it was a bit rough for her, she managed to beat the odds and come out looking more fab than ever. She recently turned 30 years old and she shared an inspiring message regarding her weight loss journey and encouraged those who are struggling with the same. Here’s what she posted on her Instagram page

“I am learning so much everyday and one thing I am sure about is that I have grown a thick skin. Lately, I have been receiving a lot of emails from women telling me how much low self-esteem they are dealing with and how less beautiful they feel because of weight issues. Somebody (18 years) even mentioned to having suicidal thoughts because of being bullied at school.”

“I want to talk to you today… CONFIDENCE begins with you. Let nobody ever tell you otherwise, I stopped caring about what others said about me when I realised nobody could afford to pay my bills. I have been there to, all my primary school I was called kinono, my high school I was called all sorts of names because of my weight. I am judged everyday by what I dress, what I eat, who I date, different stories are created every day.”

“Shame on anyone who makes others feel less of themselves, you are nothing but a waste of space in this world. Sending warm hugs to anyone battling with that and just know I am always here to boost your confidence up. Have a successful week ahead and keep God first.”

Anerlisa indeed has a point. It should not matter to you what people say about how you look, what matters is how you see yourself and what God thinks about you, and  he sure thinks you are beautifully and wonderfully made!
