Nigerian singer Wizkid is the big talk in town after he blazed up Nairobi over the weekend with a mega concert, one of the best staged shows seen in the city in a long time.
The show was attended by the high and mighty, including President Uhuru Kenyatta’s daughter Ngina.
And it wasn’t just about the electrifying performance. It was a star act whose side shows included city clubs battling for the singer and smitten girls fighting over the star. For two nights, Nairobi was all about Wizkid!
Uhuru's daughter was among the thousands who thronged the Kenya International Conventional Centre (KICC) for the Saturday night main show that went on despite heavy rains threatening to spoil the day.
Ngina, who enjoyed the performance alongside friends who had accompanied her, was under heavy security and the media could hardly gain access to her.
The star-studded act saw Kenya’s greatest singers, among them Nameless, Redsan, Sauti Sol, Kenzo, H_Art the Band, Fena and Nonini, thrill the mammoth crowd before Wizkid took over to a near-ecstatic reception.
The 'Come Closer' singer performed for four hours non-stop, singing most of his popular hits including 'Ojuelegba', 'Sweet Love' and 'Daddy Yo.'
