Five fashions that we'd ban on planes after United Airlines bars passengers from wearing leggings

Leisure and Travel

The airline company landed themselves in hot water after the debacle, but here we look at a few other things we'd secretly quite like to ban...

United Airlines caused a storm on Twitter after two young girls were banned from wearing leggings on one of their flights.

Firstly, can we just begin by saying that as we haven’t seen the actual leggings in question, it’s probably not fair on us to comment on whether or not they should have been banned. But it does sound quite bizarre. And not anywhere near as offensive as a LOT of other things we've seen on aeroplanes.

Anyway it started a big big debate about all the the other more serious 'fashion crimes' committed by passengers that we'd quite like to ban...

1. Flip-flops

Not all feet were created equal and sitting next to someone's corns-blisters-calluses for 10 hours is far from fun.

Oh, and bare feet, while we're at it, there's simply no need for them either.

2. Tracksuits

Keep them for the gym only

As far as we know there isn't a single airline offering personal on board PT sessions, there is simply NO need.

3. High heels

We can't think of a single reason why this would be a good idea - unless of course you're Victoria Beckham and your life depends on it.

4. Crocs

Shouldn't be allowed outside in public, let alone on a plane, have you no pride?

5. Caps

The last time we checked planes fly above the clouds - you don't need to worry about sun in your eyes, wind in your hair, rain in your face. Get a grip.

But we advise you look with caution, the 'offending' images can never be 'unseen'.
