Tattu singer Angela Ndambuki shares on why her Honda CRV is the perfect mum car

Living

Angela NdambukiWhat do you call your car?

I am not really into naming cars. My car is just my car.

What adjustments have you made to your car to capture your personality?

I have added tints and alloy rims.

What girly stuff do you carry in your ride?

Unlike other ladies, I do not have wardrobe or anything. I just carry some flat shoes just in case my heels are killing me.

What do you love most about your car?

It is practical. Being a mother involves catering for the needs of the family. This means carrying everything from the kids, their bicycles, their snacks and the house shopping. My car is the perfect mum car.

What don’t you like about your car?

For now, I like it just as it is. If I was to change anything in future, it would be a full upgrade to my dream car.

Approximately how much do you spend on your car in a month?

About Sh20,000 on fuel.

Which was your first car and what do you remember most about it?

It was a Subaru Forester. And boy wasn’t it a guzzler!

Do you know how to change a tyre?

Let’s just say that I will know when I get a flat tyre! LOL!

Are you a manual or automatic kind of girl?

I prefer automatics as I usually have to attend several meetings. Being held up in traffic would be horrific with a manual gear.

Does your current car represent you?

Not really.  I think I need something sleeker and sexier.

Are you one of those ladies who are never in a hurry on the road?

You know what? My husband says I drive fast, but I think I am just average.

What is your greatest pet peeve about driving in Nairobi?

People who look confused on the road. Or people who are crossing then they raise their hand as if to stop traffic. If you are crossing the road, focus.

What one thing have you learnt now that you never knew before?

You need to constantly check the pressure in the tyres and the water or your car will overheat. You also need to service your car frequently or it will break down.

Where do you enjoy driving?

There is too much traffic generally in Nairobi, so I do not have options when it comes to enjoying my drive.

What advice would you give a new car owner?

Looks should come last; look at your budget and your needs. Big engine equals big cash.

What is your dream car?

A Bentley Continental V8 – it is classy, luxurious and aggressive. It defines me.
