Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday, February 12, wished Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju a speedy recovery after he was involved in an accident.

Through his Twitter handle, Raila said they were praying for all the people who were involved in the Wednesday morning accident.

“I wish a speedy recovery to @RaphaelTuju_EGH, his bodyguard, driver and all the passengers in his and the other vehicles involved in the accident this morning. You are in our thoughts and prayers,” tweeted Raila.

The accident occurred at Magina area on the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway while Tuju was on his way to the late Daniel Moi’s burial in Kabarak.

His vehicle hit a 14-seater matatu and the Jubilee Party Secretary-General was to  the Kijabe Mission Hospital for treatment.

According to the Central police commander Patrick Lumumba, the matatu driver swerved as he avoided hitting another car that was in front of him.

“The driver says he was avoiding to hit another car when he collided with the other car carrying the CS. Those injured are in hospital,” said the commander.
