Sauti Sol's Bien willing to get a vasectomy

 Bien Baraza

Sauti Sol lead singer Bien Baraza has revealed that he would be willing to undergo vasectomy if push comes to shove.

Speaking on contraceptives on his show Bald Box session alongside Rugby player Dennis Ombachi and Dr Reign, the singer admitted that although the idea of vasectomy is scary, he would be willing to get one.

“When we talk about vasectomy most men just question…is it reversible? Personally, as we speak I can’t really say I’m a Saint in the matter. I would nominate my wife to go through the procedure. But I am actually willing to consider and look into a vasectomy,” he said.

According to Ombachi, male contraceptives have not been given enough awareness hence the reason why more and more men shy away from the idea.

Because of this, majority tend to leave contraceptives and family planning entirely to women.

“I think when it comes to vasectomy maybe we still lack information about it. Just like the way we were all scared of Covid 19 in the first few years and got to know more about it, the same should be done with vasectomy,” said Ombachi.

Celebrities choosing vasectomy

Vasectomy has elicited mixed reactions among netizens who believe the procedure is too extreme for an individual to go through.

Not too long ago, radio personality Nick Ndeda came under fire after revealing he had undergone the procedure to prevent himself from ever having children.

This is after his break up with long-term girlfriend Muthoni who shared in his decision not to have children.

“One final thing on this matter, I did not get a vasectomy for her. I did that for me because I also do not want kids. Any other questions, not up for debate or discussion.”

“There is a single video or thing that I did in the 7 years we were together that I did because I was forced to. Muthoni is a great woman and just because we aren't together now is no reason for the rude insensitive and dumb comments. Like we said, we were just letting you know. Whatever random mess you think you know that’s on you,” he posted on Twitter.

TV host Dj Moz also revealed he went through the procedure, adding that he does not regret it.

“I'm married and I have been for 13 years. The reality is that the burden of family planning had always been on my wife.

“My wife had been on the pill for the longest time and it was also not good for her and I knew it was affecting her. She and I had this [family planning] conversation from time to time and we had agreed that it had to stop. We had come to the point where we now had three kids and the cycle had to stop... So vasectomy became an option," DJ Moz narrated.
