Kericho, Kenya: Two Tuberculosis patients from Kericho West District have been jailed for defaulting on treatment.
While sentencing the two, Resident Magistrate M I Shimenga said the two should be isolated as they receive TB treatment for eight months.
In his affidavit, Senior Public Health Officer Joseph Kipkorir Kilel had said one of the accused, a local taxi driver, commenced his treatment on December 28, last year but later absconded.
The second suspect was said to be an alcoholic whose drug adherence would be interfered with if not confined.
