Despite an improved performance from the visitors, South Africa crushed Kenya by seven wickets in the second one-day international (ODI) friendly in Kimberly to complete a 2-0 clean sweep.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Steve Tikolo’s charges were restricted to 222 runs for nine wickets in their allocated 50 overs before the hosts reached their target of 223 in 35.3 overs for the loss of three wickets.
A maiden ODI half century from youngster Seren Waters, Alex Obanda who added another 50 for the second wicket and Jimmy Kamande who struck 29 from 31 balls stood out for Kenya.
It was better showing from the visitors who were dismissed for 177 in the first international in Bloemfontein on Friday.
The Proteas included a debutant, fast bowler Johann Louw, and he gave his team an early boost by dismissing Maurice Ouma in the third over.
The hosts had Kenya struggling at 12 for one but met with resistance from Waters and Obanda.
The youngsters’ partnership, however, ended in the 13th over when Jacques Kallis had Obanda caught while attempting a pull.

Captain Tikolo carried his team’s hopes when he came to the crease but his innings was cut short by Albie Morkel, who ended up with figures of 3 for 47.
Kenya were in trouble at 63 for 3 but Waters once again forged a substantial partnership of 88 with Thomas Odoyo. Waters, playing only his fourth ODI, was patient at the start of his innings but began to accelerate once he reached his half-century, hitting Louw for two fours and a six over long-off in the 35th over.
He then took on Morkel, cutting through point for four, before he was beaten for pace and bowled on 74. Kamande then came in to hit 29 to lift Kenya to 222.
In reply, an unbeaten 92 from Kallis and Hashim Amla who struck 78 propelled the hosts to victory.
Amla was caught off the bowling of Hiren Varaiya while Nehemiah Odhiambo and Peter Ongondo claimed the wickets of star men Herschelle Gibbs and AB de Villiers who were caught by Waters. Gibbs was out for two while de Villiers contributed 28 before he perished.
Meanwhile, in their first international, South Africa beat Kenya by 159 runs.Meanwhile, The Stanford Superstars stormed to a 10-wicket win and with it the US$20m (Sh1.6b) bounty, thumping England with more than seven overs to spare after bowling them out for 99.
In any Twenty20 match this would have been a dominant display, but given the unique prize on offer it was a stunning performance from the ‘home’ side, as they were cheered on by a packed Independence Day crowd.
Chris Gayle, with a 33-ball half-century, and Andre Fletcher capped the evening with a thrilling display of strokes.
When Gayle launched Steve Harmison’s third over for 22, the Superstars had already overtaken England’s meagre tally of seven boundaries.
