The number of Kenyans developing high blood pressure is increasing at an alarming rate, making the disease a serious health concern in the country.
This is according to the Nakuru County Director of Health, Dr James Wainaina. Speaking at a health seminar at Nakuru hotel, Dr Wainaina said it may not be easy for one to determine if they have the disease because it does not come with any serious symptoms in some cases.
He urged Kenyans to check their blood pressure as frequently as possible.
According to the doctor, Kenyans need to embrace healthy lifestyles that involve eating fruits, lean meat and low fat milk as well as regular exercise.
Wainaina also advised people to avoid salt, as it contributed to the problem.
