Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has accused Luo elders of discouraging the fight against HIV and Aids, for criticising circumcision.
He said he was bitter with calls by elders urging youths to shun the ongoing circumcision campaign.
Mr Midiwo said the elders were hosted in in some FM radio stations, where they called on the youth not to get circumcised, since it was not part of the Luo culture.
The MP said the elders were not sexually active and are not affected by the Aids pandemic.
"If circumcision can reduce chances of contracting HIV/Aids, then let us go for it," he advised young men in Sagam, Siaya District at the weekend.
