The acting Inspector General of Police Noor Gabow has paid his boss, Hillary Mutyambai, a visit in hospital today.
Mutyambai has been away on sick leave since Friday, August 26.
In Mutyambai's absence, Gabow, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Administration, has been performing his duties in an acting capacity.
According to a statement by the National Police Service (NPS) on Monday, August 29, Gabow visited Mutyambai in hospital and the two discussed various issues.
The statement did not, however, divulge any update on Mutyambai's health.
"The two had a hearty conversation on various issues. The entire National Police Service fraternity takes this opportunity to wish the Inspector General speedy and full recovery," reads an excerpt of the statement posted on Twitter.
Last week, The Standard reported that an unidentified top-ranking police officer collapsed while at his home in Nairobi, and was immediately taken to a high-end private hospital for treatment.
The last time the police chief was spotted in public was on July 31, 2022 during the commissioning of the 27-kilometre Nairobi Expressway.
He was in the company of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Transport Cabinet Secretary (CS) James Macharia and Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Director-General Lieutenant-General Mohamed Abdalla Badi.
