Matt Bradley, a 23-year-old chef from Warwickshire in England, popped the question to his girlfriend Hannah, and she accepted.
But when the pair began to plan their big day, they realised they would both like to be in better shape before they tied the knot.
Matt, who had become inactive and constantly grazed on food at work weighed 117Kgs and Hannah was overweight as well.
The childhood sweethearts vowed to change their lives and kickstarted their healthy eating regime by carefully planning their meals and adding more vegetables to their diet.
Matt took up running, building up to the 10km distance.
By the time their nuptials arrived, the plucky pair had lost a combined 60Kgs.
Matt went from just under 114 Kgs to 69Kgs, Hannah lost over 19Kgs.
Fit and healthy, they had their dream wedding and looked incredible.
