Lately, there has been a buzz about Kenyan women embracing natural hair. It has even gone to the extent where if you’re not team natural then you don’t fit in. Well, media personality Caroline Mutoko however encourages women to embrace whatever hair style they like.

“The only thing I’m glad about is that there are people who came out to say they cannot do the natural hair, and that is okay”, she says.

The celebrated radio host says she can’t do natural hair because it is hectic.

”I have a career and it is not wetting my hair every morning”, she says.

Caroline however adds that you should not judge a woman by her hair, saying that you should be comfortable with whatever hair style you want to rock.

”There’s a woman who just discovered the natural hair movement and she’s got 3 hours in the evening to do her bantu notes. By the time you do your last note I have been asleep for two and a half hours, but do it!”

She goes ahead to encourage the women who love their long weaves to keep doing their thing.

“There’s a woman who can’t have less than 21 inches worth of weave on her head and she rocks it until all of you want to weep. I would suggest you weave her alone!

Caroline says that women need to stop judging other women based on their own beauty standards.

“We should stop packaging everyone into one little box such that if you don’t fit you don’t belongIf your thing is a weave and you can’t understand how the rest of us can live in cornrows, leave us alone!”
