Prince Harry and Eugenie's unique bond - and devastating Meghan secret betrayal

When Prince Harry and Meghan Meghan first stepped out with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, a new nickname emerged - The Fab Four.

Fans were so excited to see what the two royal couples would achieve, but unfortunately we never got to see what could have been as the Sussexes quit amid rift rumours.

But it looks like there is a new royal Fab Four to watch out for as the couple's bond with Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank grows even closer.

Meghan and Harry have allowed the couple, who are expecting their first child at the start of next year, to move into their Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage.

The stunning cottage was completely refurbished last year, costing the taxpayer Sh352 million (£2.4 million), which the couple have since paid back, before they decided to leave the UK and make California their home.

The Sussexes have reportedly handed over the keys in a move that "blindsided" senior members of the royal family.

While the move was unexpected, as Meghan and Harry said they wanted to keep Frogmore as their UK base, it's not surprising that Harry wanted to help his cousin as they have always been extremely close.

The royal duo enjoyed family holidays together when they were growing up and hit the London club scene together when they were older.

Insiders say that of all of the Queen's grandchildren, Harry and Eugenie had the "most natural connections" and are the "closest of friends".

When they were young, they were regulars at the popular London club, Mahiki, and would sneak in the back entrance.

They have many a fun night doing shots and drinking frozen margaritas.

In their book Finding Freedom, royal journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claim Harry and Eugenie's roles within the royal family was the base of their relationship.

They write: "Like Harry, Eugenie also struggled to carve out her own identity growing up.

"Not being in a senior role meant that she had to go out into the world and find her own path, which she has done, moving to New York in 2013 to work at Paddle8, the auction house run by Misha's husband and Harry's friend Alexander.

"Harry had always confided in his cousin when it came to the women in his life.

"Not only did he trust her implicitly, but friends say that she gives great advice and has always been "beyond wise" for her years."

Eugenie was one of the first people Harry told about Meghan, and he was keen to introduce them.

They hit it off straight away, and enjoyed double dates at some fancy locations.

Eugenie reportedly told a friend Meghan was "just the tonic" for her cousin.

However, Eugenie played a key role in news of Meghan and Harry's relationship being leaked to the press.

They managed to keep their blossoming love secret for several months, only telling their closest family and friends and swapping fancy date nights for takeaways at home away from prying eyes.

But on October 31, 2016, they couldn't hide it any more when news of their relationship was leaked.

According to a new book about the couple, Finding Freedom, the leak came from someone who works for Eugenie and her dad Prince Andrew.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand write: "The Sunday Express was going to run with the story of their relationship - and the tabloid was rumoured to have been tipped off by an employee of none other than Eugenie and her father, Prince Andrew."

Eugenie is extremely close to her cousin Harry, so it's likely that she was upset when she found out what happened - even though it wasn't her fault.
