It is Saturday, you are enjoying your day off and the bustles of the week. Suddenly the phone rings, it is your people. They are in the neighbourhood and they announce they will be over in twenty minutes. They hang up and then you realise that your bathroom is not so welcoming. Do not panic. Here is how to literally speed clean your bathroom in 7 minutes.
Minute (0-1) Sprinkle Detergents
Sprinkle your favourite detergents mixed with bleach in the toilet bowl. Brush the bowl and cover it. Sprinkle some more in the washbowl and bathroom floor. Spray your bathroom walls or cubicle with a spritz of water and vinegar mixed in equal parts.
Minute (1-3) - Steam It Up
Turn on your shower and let the steam build up. Keep your windows and doors closed. Steam helps loosen dirt and oils. Let the steam build up for three minutes then burst in the bathroom like a Ninja. Open the window and leave the door open. Clean the sink and rinse with cold water. Open your toilet bowl, scrub one more time and flush. Quickly scrub the bathroom floor or wipe the tub and rinse it off by leaving the cold shower running. Next step, wipe down your shower cubicle or bathroom walls. You can even spray that water and vinegar some more.
Minute (3-4) Wipe Down Surfaces
You will need a damp absorbent micro-fibre cloth for this stage. Using a few hand waves, swish over your walls. Use a newspaper to give sheen to your mirror as well as faucets and handles. Wipe the toilet bowl, the vanity, outside the seat.
Minute (5 -6) Freshen Up
Lay out a clean set of towels; you should always keep an extra set of clean hand towels for situations like these. If you have an extra bathroom mat, throw the damp one out and lay out a fresh mat. Light a candle, spray your bathroom scents. In order to avoid the awkwardness of guests asking for toilet paper, lay out extra rolls ahead of time. Make sure you have ample hand soap too. Empty your trash and line the can with a new bag.
Minute (6-7)
With a damp floor-cleaning cloth, wipe the remaining floor area and be keen to trap off any hair or dust in corners. That is how you clean a bathroom in record time.
