Harvard scientists have advised that persons who snore can adopt simple behaviour changes to make their sleep smoother.
To avoid snoring loudly, they advise that you avoid drinking alcohol at night, smoking, sleep on your side and keep off snore-inducing medications.
Snoring occurs when your upper airways narrow, causing turbulent airflow. This, in turn, makes the surrounding tissues vibrate, producing noise.
Interestingly, snoring affects twice as many men as women.
Have a snore-free siesta.
