Ladies,please respect yourselves!

Lady Speak

Probably in a bid to meet the 40% local content set by the CAK to Media houses, a local TV station came up with one Nairobi Diaries. If the need for local talent was not the inspiration behind it then it beats logic why the supposed reality show is on our screens.

The production might be a tad bit below par but that is subject for another forum, not to mention the conspicuous attempt and failure at copying the American reality shows; allow me dear reader to engage you on the cast. Nairobi diaries, far from the name is not a show about some day to day life of a ghetto youth trying to go through the hustles and bustles of life in the city of the sun; far from it.

The show is about a group of bimbos struggling for a cheap commodity-attention. You know what they say, "get respect because as much as it is expensive, it lasts longer?"

These ladies-what did I just call them, ladies? Pardon my slip of the pen; these girls who have by all means deliberately refused to grow up are an eyesore and a disgrace to everything feminine.

For starters, they are more fake than the word itself, quite literally. Fake hair, (well, ahem,it is a black woman's weakness), fake nails, brows, boobs, butts...Wait, the list is just getting started, fake accents, personalities, I mean, they re like walking mannequins!

Now these girls with morals looser than the strings on their G-strings, judging from how they carry themselves, think purveying such is an achievement?

One who confessed that she cannot speak proper English actually had the nerves to bring a boxer on set of alleged foreign celebrity she slept with just to prove that she actually slept with him! By, Jove, who raised these women? Girl, (Her singing is as pathetic as her attitude), when did sleeping with a celebrity become something worth accolades?

The only standing ovation you and your ilk deserve is for being loud mouths, bad girls- wannabe who are actually weak minded women who think life begins and ends with partying, wearing skimpy outfits and bagging moneyed dudes.

Acting all gangster and tough is nothing, who have you beaten? Some of us were bred on grade three maize meals and fish, walked miles to school and to the river and spent weekends in the shamba, climbed trees, herded cattle and fought with boys on the play ground so try picking a fight with us. You actually just dare the cerelac fed ones like you. You are not bad girls; you are stupid and should get a life ASAP.

Here is a little unsolicited lesson that I'm going to let you in on anyway. I get it, we cannot all be lawyers, journalists like yours truly or farmers-some are cut as socialites.

Talking of the word, even the likes of Kim Kardashian who you desperately ape to the point of getting your tits and butts injected with silicon have something going for themselves. She has a clothe and cosmetics line. One tried going into hair business and failed miserably, the poor lass should have invested in chicken business or something. Do something other than opening legs to the highest bidder.

The rest are either full time sluts looking for sponsors to milk or are dancing semi-nude in music videos. Even being a video-vixen requires talent, not just a pretty face and enhanced body. These women's bouts of myopia borders insanity.

I often wonder, do they even stop to think of what tomorrow might hold given their lifestyles? What happens when the ass and boobs sag, when the face cannot hold the cakes of make-up any more, when age catches up with you and you are no longer succulent, young, attractive and edible; what then?

The fact that they are so proud of their lifestyles that they are willing for the Cameras to roll on them is disturbing. Why are women screaming for equality, or equity or whatever it is they always demand when they cannot even respect themselves.

You can hardly see men engage in such. People will in most situations than not, treat you the way you present yourself-when we see you with boobs threatening to spill out, getting drunk and flirting with anything in sight, cursing like a Detroit underground hip-hop artist high on raw weed, admitting to have screwed some random people with boxer proofs, then to us you come about like a lose woman. That's it.

Do not give us that do not judge me crap, because even in a market, you buy a commodity based on how it is packaged, what you read on the pack and its quality. You do not get the privilege of using it first before you can judge its ability.

Twanging with pathetic accents, wearing designer clothes and bags with expensive jewellery and shoes and raving in high end joints does not depict class. A classy woman is one who is educated, independent minded, well mannered and future oriented. A woman with character, morals and who values her dignity, it does not matter if she is a mama mboga or a cleaner somewhere, a woman who respects herself and her body. That is pure class.

Now, I am privy to those who will say that I hate on the girls because they have more money, attention, beauty and that I am a bitter woman, bla bla, yeah right. Weak minds always refer to opinionated people as bitter.

Come to think of it, why would I hate on girls who can barely spell their names backwards, who open their legs more times than they do their brains and who cannot define dignity, and I mean the literal meaning et al'! It is time someone spoke the truth about these "Thots" who call themselves socialites, someone needs to define to them the true meaning of the word even in the modern context and the clear distinction between a socialite, a video vixen and attention seeker with loose morals.

Women, we cannot win the fight on chauvinism when we can barely learn the basics of decency. Respect is earned, not dished out like manna during the times of Moses.

Learn to fend for yourself in a respectable manner however little, value dignity more than material possession and leave a positive legacy like the salt of the earth that you are. Look in the mirror and see through you not at you, you'll get the answers.
