5 tricks to help you increase your water intake.

Water is a universal drink. It helps with weight loss and blood sugar regulation among other benefits. How then do you ensure that you drink enough water to achieve maximum benefits from the wonder drink, especially if you are poor at drinking water?

Here are a few tips and tricks.

1.       Replace the fizzy drinks with water.

Every  time you are about to reach out for that carbonated drink why not replace it with water. It helps to walk around with a water bottle as well so that thirst will not tempt you into buying fizzy drinks.

2.       Flavor your water.

If you are one of those people who cannot stand the plain boring taste of water you can jazz it up with your favorite flavors. You could use lemon wedges to make the water less boring. You could also throw in some strawberries to make it sweeter. Adding ice cubes would also making it more interesting and chilly.

3.       Drink water before and after every meal.

If you took a glass of water every before and after a meal then you would never be dehydrated.  Make it a ritual and you will find that you are taking enough water. It also helps you avoid overeating because the stomach is not empty.

4.       Use water apps.

There are multiple apps that help us to remember to take water. So if you are overly busy and you keep forgetting, you might want to get yourself one of these water apps. These apps include waterlog, water for your body among others.

5.       Eat fruits and vegetables that have a lot of water.

I love this tip best because it’s like killing two birds with one stone. You are able to eat healthy and also benefit from the water in your fruits and vegetables. Some of the fruits and vegetables that are rich in water are watermelons, cucumbers and celery among others.
