Governor tells the Hague who to come for if Uhuru’s swearing in is disrupted

Tharaka-Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has asked the International Criminal Court to charge those who might attempt to cause chaos during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s swearing in.

Speaking to a gathering, the governor said that President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto are the ones who went to court despite the fact that the election impasse at the time was between NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga and former President Mwai Kibaki.

He then went on to say that if anyone decides to disrupt Uhuru’s swearing in, the ICC should take charge and act on those responsible.

“Tunasema 2007 -2008, yule kinara wa hio chama (NASA) alivuruga Kenya akiwa anamsukuma Mwai Kibaki. Lakini wale walienda Hague walikua Uhuru Kenyatta na William Ruto. This time tumeambia wale watu wako Hague, kukitokea vurugu kesho au ile siku tunaenda kuapisha Uhuru Kenyatta, waangalie vurugu nani analeta na wanajua ni nani, huyo akileta ‘mvurugo’ apelekwe Hague,” said the Governor.

Uhuru Kenyatta is set to be sworn in on Tuesday 28th November, with National Super Alliance leaders insisting that they do not recognize his re-election.

Raila Odinga withdrew from the presidential race after his coalition’s efforts to come to an agreement with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) failed. He wanted CEO Ezra Chiloba, who is leave removed from office as well as the opening of servers to be able to access August 8th presidential results.

Uhuru Kenyatta, after being announced the winner of the repeat poll, said that he expected his victory to be challenged in a court of law and would respect the courts.

The Court upheld Uhuru’s win, a decision which angered NASA faithful in different counties (NASA strongholds).
