The US Embassy in Nairobi on Wednesday announced that all services are fully operational after a hitch that led to the closure of the facility earlier this week.

The update stated that all appointments for today (March 5, 2020) would go on as planned.

“We are pleased to announce that all visa, passport, and American citizen services are now fully operational.

“All consular appointments for March 5, 2020, are scheduled as normal,” read the statement.

Adding: “For appointments from March 2- 4, 2020, the U.S. Embassy continues to contact affected applicants to reschedule.

“Thank you for your patience as we reschedule as quickly as possible and thank you to our technicians for working 24/7 to get us operational again.”

On Monday this week, the embassy announced that all consular services slated for March 3, 2020, had been cancelled due to damage caused by a power surge on Monday.

Through a statement seen by Ureport, the embassy noted that all visa, passport and applications for citizenship had been halted temporarily.

Kenya Power also weighed in on the matter saying there was a faulty cable inside the premise.

The company, however, assured the embassy that technicians would work on the matter immediately.
