Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has slammed Kenyan rapper Kennedy Ombima aka King Kaka, by referring to him as an attention seeker on Friday, December 20.

Through her social media handles, the governor confirmed that she had dropped all the charges made to the rapper concerning his hit song ‘Wanjinga Nyinyi.

Waiguru says she came to that decision after King Kaka claimed he was summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), allegations that the DCI refuted.

“Having watched the antics of #kingkaka in the last couple of days with reports of fake assassination attempts and DCI summons, I recognize that he’s a confused attention seeking young man. I have therefore made the decision not to proceed with the Kingkaka suit,” said Waiguru.

The Kirinyaga governor also expressed her disappointment in the way Kenyan youth are used by politicians to settle their political scores.

“It is unfortunate when talented youth are taken advantage of by some politicians and used to settle political scores. As I have chosen on previous occasions of this nature, I will contend with their masters,” she continued.

On Monday, December 16, 2019, through her lawyers, Waiguru accused the artiste of defaming her in his song.

The Kirinyaga Governor asked the rapper to apologise and pull down the story.

“Ati Waiguru ako kwa office na story ya NYS tulishasahau Biro moja alibuy 8 thao Biro tunanunuanga mbao” said King Kaka in the song.

Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi had offered to represent the rapper in any legal battle.

“I said and I repeat..I will give legal representation to @RabbitTheKing against ANYONE who sues him for the lyric #Wajinganyiyi . I’m of the considered view that no one amongst the ruling elites or the masses was defamed. UGLY, CRASS and LEWD commentaries on society are PRIVILEGED,” said the lawyer.
