Former IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba has rubbished talk that he is battling prostate cancer.

This is after a blog published an article claiming he has been in and out of hospital for the past few days.

Chiloba stated that he is in good health and bashed those who have been spreading malicious stories about him.

“Please ignore the FAKE NEWS doing rounds. Those spreading rumors are insensitive to the pain of those who suffer from cancer.

“I am well, and just yesterday, I clocked my fastest 10.5 Kms run for which I am grateful,” he said on Friday.

Following the demise of Kibra MP Ken Okoth and Bomet Governor Dr Joyce Laboso who both succumbed to cancer, President Uhuru Kenyatta has called for concerted efforts to fight the disease.

Speaking during Laboso’s funeral service on Friday, the Head of State said that the government will increase funding towards cancer management.

He added that a chemotherapy centre at Longisa Hospital in Bomet will be officially opened in September to help cancer patients.

“We have also agreed to put up additional radiology centres at the facility and also add three more across the country in Garissa, Mombasa and Nakuru.

“We will also upgrade Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret to be a centre of excellence for cancer treatment and train oncologists,” said the President.
