Paul Pogba has revealed Manchester United don't have a designated penalty taker but is happy to give Alexis Sanchez the next one following the pair's squabble.

The Red Devils won a penalty after just two minutes when the Chilean's shot found Daniel Amartey's arm during United's Premier League victory over Leicester City.

Pogba grabbed the ball but found himself immediately confronted by Sanchez. The pair had a brief squabble before Sanchez backed down.

The Frenchman stepped up and converted the penalty, much to his relief. And to show there were no hard feelings Sanchez celebrated the goal with his team-mate.

At full-time Pogba was asked what the discussion was about and who United's designated penalty taker is.

"We don’t really have one," Pogba replied on Sky Sports. "The manager has names but after, it’s how we feel.

"I decided to take it, I was one of the names and in the next game, I can leave it for Alexis next time, it’s not a problem.

"It is just the win that is the most important."

Pogba adopted an unusual style for his penalty, taking little steps in a long run up.

"It’s my style of taking penalties, I’ve always done [it]," Pogba added.

"I know it’s long, it can disturb the goalkeeper, but that’s how I take it. The most important thing is that the ball goes in, because if I miss, I know what I will hear afterwards."
