Kabras Sugar are confident of progressing to the Enterprise Cup final as they face Kenya Harlequin in a semi final tie at the RFUEA Grounds today.

The sugar millers head to the contest knowing that a win will keep alive their hopes of a 15s double as they are still in contention for the Kenya Cup and head coach Henly Du Plessis believes Quins are no pushovers.

“It will be a tough match because Quins are a very competitive side. We have had enough rest and the boys are geared up for the match,” Du Plessis told Standard Sports.

The South African added that they have a strong squad and he is keen on helping the Kakamega outfit clinch a first ever 15s double.

“Our target is to progress to the final and we are ready to do that when we face Quins,” said Du Plessis.

Quins have named a strong squad for the 4pm match with Kenya Sevens half-back Eden Agero handed a start. Agero’s Shujaa compatriot Herman Humwa will be on the bench with debutant Steve Biko, who also named in the match day squad.

Quins, who are fresh from qualifying for the Kenya Cup semi finals will however, miss the services of winger Willy Ambaka.

Meanwhile, another semi final duel will see Impala Saracens host five-time Enterprise Cup champions KCB at the Impala Club with odds much against the hosts who have been hit hard by injuries.

Impala will be without Joel Omer who is ruled out with personal commitments and his absence has seen Paul Mutsami elevated to the starting squad.

The Frank Ndong’-coached side will also have to do without hooker Daniel Ndome.

“Our forwards must be at their best in order to disrupt KCB’s continuity and most importantly we must get points. We have been struggling with our execution and that should change,” Ndong’ said.

The last meeting between the sides, a Kenya Cup fixture, ended 25-3 in favour of the bankers and Ndong’s men will be keen to avenge the loss despite carrying the underdog tag.

“They (KCB) have been dominant in recent years and they are the most balanced team in terms of forwards and backs. We must click on all fronts if we are to beat the,” Ndong’ said. “It will be tougher than last weekend’s match against Quins.KCB have had enough rest unlike us but we are aiming for a good result,” added Ndong’.

Impala eliminated Mwamba while KCB beat Nakuru RFC. The winners of the two semi finals will battle for supremacy at a neutral venue on May 25.
