Panasonic has unveiled a new virtual mirror that uses a camera to analyse your face and then recommend make-up and hairstyles that might suit you - overlaying the image onto your reflection.
The virtual mirror was revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 during the company's press conference .
Julie Bower, president of Panasonic's consumer electronics division, took great pains to point out that the virtual mirror "is not a gimmick" - despite the fact that it feels pretty gimmicky.
The system works by recognising and tracking your face in real-time - using technology from the Lumix camera range, and then projecting a reflected image onto a mirror-like screen.
Then it will overlay information and 'looks' using an additional layer of digital graphics.
The mirror will even identify wrinkles and spots and show you what sort of makeup to use to cover them up in different lighting conditions.
Panasonic had previously showcased the mirror at the IFA trade show in Berlin in September 2014.
