Some 444 people have tested positive for the coronavirus, from a 4,989 sample size conducted in the last 24 hours.
Kenya’s positivity rate is now 8.9 per cent.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe (pictured) says the country’s total confirmed cases now stand at 170,485, with 1,806,438 tests conducted so far since the onset of Covid-19.
Another one hundred and fifteen patients have also recovered from the disease today.
“Seventy-six were discharged from the Home Based and Isolation Care program while thirty-nine are from various health facilities across the country,” Kagwe said in a brief.
There are 116,133 total recoveries.
Some seventeen patients have also succumbed to the disease, “two of them in the last 24 hours while fifteen are late deaths, reported after conducting facility record audits.”
Kenya’s Covid-19 death toll has now risen to 3,141.
The Health CS added that 1,171 patients are currently admitted in various hospitals countrywide.
4,682 patients are under the Home Based Isolation and Care program., while 04 patients are in the ICU, 21 of whom are on ventilatory support and 58 on supplemental oxygen. 25 patients are under observation.
Kenya has vaccinated some 968,733 people, even as plans to kick-off the administration of the second Covid-19 vaccine doses stalls.
