Having a skincare routine is very important. With so many products being launched and being pushed by influencers, it’s easy to get carried away. It’s important to stay focused and not to be swayed into buying products unless you are moving to a better product.

For you to have beautiful skin you need to have a range of skin care products that work for your skin and have a skincare routine.

Don’t go jumping into all the new trends popping up as they could be reason why you are experiencing breakouts.

As they say, ‘if it isn’t broken don’t fix it.’

If it is already working, here are a few reasons why you need to stick to your beauty routine

Prevent unnecessary breakouts

The reason why most of us experience breakouts is because we switch products depending on what is the new in town. I know the pressure is there but wearing the newest product may not make any difference and worst since you cannot carry the label on your face literally, no one will know what you use by just looking at you.

Consistency

Your skin needs consistency. It’s important to stick to your routine without changing products every time or changing your routine. Stick to one routine and be consistent. Stick to the same products and continue using them. This will ensure that your skin is always flawless at all times.

Your skin is unique

Simply because a product works for your friend or favourite celebrity doesn’t mean that it will necessarily work for you. Just use what works best for you and stick to that. Your skin might not respond so well to someone else’s products or skincare routine and you don’t want to go through the stress of trying to get your skin clear.

Prevention is better

Why should you put your skin at risk and end up paying huge amounts at the dermatologist, who will again recommend expensive products to clear your face for a problem you caused? There is no need to change or swap your products if they are working for you. Getting clear skin takes time so I don’t know why you would want to start the process all over again.

It boosts your confidence

It will be so embarrassing to start explaining why you are having a breakout all of a sudden just because you decided to switch products for no good reasons. Clear skin boosts your confidence so don’t sabotage this by switching your products for no good reason.

Avoid over-exfoliating

Yes, exfoliating is good for your skin but doing it too much of it will end up hurting your skin. This will start creating scars on your skin. As fast as you would like your skin to clear up don’t over exfoliate. Just do this twice a week that should be enough.
