A 22-year-old man is set to be arraigned later in the day, for allegedly impersonating Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says.

The suspect, Collins Kipleting Serem alias Rengstar, is a benga music artist based in Kamplemur village in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect created a fake Facebook account using the Deputy President's identity.

According to a tweet by the DCI, Serem is accused of using the said account to solicit for funds from unsuspecting Kenyans, claiming it would be used to address hunger issues in the country.
