Pop star Selena Gomez has hit back at online speculation about her appearance.
The singer has been open about her struggles with lupus, an autoimmune disease, but continues to face criticism over her changing looks.
The conversation started when a TikTok video, originally posted in 2023 by a physician's assistant working in a plastic surgeon's office, resurfaced.
On July 27, Selena commented on the video, addressing the speculations.
"Honestly, I hate this. I was on stripes because of a flare-up. I have Botox. That's it. Leave me alone," she wrote.
Selena, who has been open about her battle with lupus, received an apology from the TikToker, Marissa Barrionuevo, who said, "You don't owe it to anyone to tell us why you don't look the same as what you did when you were a teenager or in your 20s."
Selena then responded, saying, "I love you. Not about you. I just get sad sometimes."
Gomez was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disorder, in 2014. The condition, which can cause symptoms like joint pain, led her to undergo a kidney transplant in 2017.
