The bodyguard of Ida Odinga, the wife of Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya leader Raila Odinga, has been shot dead.
The security guard was shot dead by assailants at around 5am on Friday, October 14 at his Riat home in Kisumu West Sub-County, which is located near Odinga's residence.
The head of Ida Odinga's security team David Masaga confirmed to The Standard the fatal shooting.
The body of the security guard was taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
Masaga said Ida, who is safe, was not at her Riat home during the incident.
