Daddy Owen sheds light on cause of Ngashville's death

As the country continues to mourn the death of gospel artist Anthony Nga'nga popularly known as Ngashville, details are emerging about the cause of his untimely demise.

According to gospel artist Daddy Owen, who was a close confidant, Ngashville was taken ill on Thursday 11th August after he complained of what he presumed was a bout of food poisoning. After grabbing some over-the-counter medication to treat the symptoms, he took time to rest until Friday, 19th, whereby medication was then prescribed.

"He was in high spirits anticipating a full recovery," Daddy Owen said in a social media post.

He further reveals that his health took a turn for the worse on Saturday, forcing him to be dashed to hospital where it was established that he suffered very low blood pressure.

"He was immediately admitted to the high dependency unit where doctors worked hard to stabilize him but later established that he had a severe blood infection," he went on.

Owen further indicated that Ng'ash was put on life support after it was established that his main organs had been affected as well.

"Besides the kidney and liver functions, the infection had taken a toll on him causing multiple organ failure and though the doctor's efforts were commendable, they asked the family to say their goodbyes and within the hour, he peacefully rested."

Daddy Owen and DJ Sadic were amongst the first gospel artists to rush to hospital when news of his ill-health was made public and they stayed by his bedside until he breathed his last on Sunday at 7;50 pm. DJ Sadiq recounted how sad the night had been as they escorted the rapper's lifeless body to the cold room.

Ng'ash leaves behind a widow and three daughters. Plans for his final send-off are currently underway.
