Victoria Tennis Academy players dominated the just concluded East Africa Junior Tennis Championship at Sadili Oval Tennis Academy.
Victoria’s Ricky Omondi, who was defending his 2010 Under-12 title, defeated his club mate John Onyango 6-2 to retain the title. In the semis, Omondi hit Billy Douglas of the UK 6-3 as Onyango beat Sebastian Width of Norway 6-2. In the girls’ Under-14 singles finals, Victoria’s Linda Janet lost to Emilly Stone-Wigg of the UK 6-4, 6-3.
Speaking in Nairobi after the tournament, Victoria Academy Director, Collins Agwanda expressed his satisfaction in his players’ performance and thanked Kisumu Town East MP, Shakeel Shabbir for his continued support to the academy.
"Our players will now take a break from now until December to concentrate on their studies," said Agwanda.
