Grace Sampao of Nairobi’s Kenya High is the overall winner of the Barclays Bank ‘AA’ swimming championships.
The 17-year-old collected 39 points to top the girls’ over-16 category at Aga Khan High.
Sampao’s teammate Doreen Holi finished second on 34 points with Tess Mathai of Flying Fish third on 23 points.

Sampao said: "We’re delighted by our results as it has placed us at the top."Kenya High women’s team was outstanding in the gala with 18 medals — eight gold, six silver and four bronze.
Sampao bagged gold, silver, bronze basis of 2-2-3 with Grace Wasike who won the girls’ 14-15 age-group managing 2-2-3 for Kenya High.
The boys’ trophy went to Shahid Velji of Nairobi Academy who scooped 22 points and Stephen Kim of Rosslyn Academy second on 16.50 points.
Imara Bella of Banda School topped the girls’ under-7 category that she won with 28 points followed by Esther Njuki of Loreto Convent Valley Road (26), Diya Nagda of Oshwal Nairobi (12) and Emily Belcher of Hillcrest (11).
Ivy Rahedi and Rania Vayani shared the fifth position on seven points. Vayani, who finished second to Bella in the 25m breaststroke and 10th in 50m breaststroke said: "I’m happy with my overall performance and I hope I’ll do better when I graduate to the next level next month."
Vayani, 7, was the youngest swimmer in the under-9 category. In other individual rankings, Ambala Atuhaire of Strathmore won the boys’ under-7 category on 32 points followed by Ngari Kariuki of Rusinga (13).
