The National Police Service Commission wants the salaries of police officers reviewed upwards.

Should proposals by the commission, presented to a task force looking into the welfare of police officers be implemented, basic salary of a police constable will increase from Sh20,390 to Sh36,450.

This represents the highest raise among officers, at 79 per cent, and is aimed at compensating for the long period police officers have stagnated without a salary review.
