Five hairstyles likely to trend this coming year

At this point, we are all eager to see what 2022 holds in store for the world of beauty and fashion. It’s always exciting to see what new styles we will have considering each year comes with its own personality.

As for hairstyles, I’m certain there will be some new hot trends as well as some unexpected changes which I honestly can’t wait to see.

I may not have a magic ball to predict the future, but here are some of the hairstyle predictions to expect in 2022 that will be a huge deal:

Wigs have been a must-have especially in 2021. There are many improvements that have been made such as the addition of amazing HD and transparent lace fronts and better installation processes that make it hard to detect whether the hair is growing out of your scalp or not.

Next year though, you will be seeing more headband wigs on the rise. They are basically an updated version of the old go-to wigs that didn’t need any complicated gluing process.

With fingers crossed, we are hoping there will be a variety of textures, lengths and colors to suit different style needs.

Knotless braids are already in high demand and this will continue even as the new year approaches. Many people are no longer fans of the braiding method that has existed for decades because it puts a lot of tension on the scalp and easily leads to issues like hair loss and traction alopecia.

With knotless braids, the process might take slightly longer but it’s much better knowing that you won’t have to deal with a terribly painful scalp after a long day at the salon.

The transition to the knotless braiding method will definitely be huge not to mention the different ways they can styled.

Long curled braids will be a thing next year. There’s always been classic styles like wavy hot water braids that would be achieved by braiding and dipping the entire braid in boiling water but this new style is a modern twist to that.

For this new look, the unfinished ends of the braids are curdled instead of having the waves on the entire braid.

Dyeing your hair is a great style option if you don’t really want to do anything drastic to your hair. We are learning to embrace more beautiful and bold colors and that is exactly what might happen next year.

The good thing about this is you can still choose to have colored wigs or braids in case you don’t want to directly change your hair color.

Either way, this will be a big thing in 2022.

Another hairstyle that will be sought after is faux locs. There are so many different ways of doing this style from butterfly locs, goddess locs, bohemian locs, sister locs, distressed locs, the list is endless.

It won’t matter if you choose to do bob styled locs or have the long locs installed because they all look amazing.

You can even choose to get them done at the salon or easily install them on your own through the crotchet method.

Faux locs are so versatile, easy to install and they don’t demand a lot of maintenance. And that is exactly why you might see more of them come the new year.
