A man was killed when a fierce shark attacked him at the Likoni ferry near the Mama Ngina Drive.
He was killed by a shark, which attacked him as he was washing his feet at Likoni channel near Mama Ngina drive.
His friend Mr Omar Mustafa who was swimming in the same place however escaped after he was alerted by members of the public about the attack.
"I was swimming when I heard some current hit me from the botton of the sea, which made me suspect something a miss was happening," Mustafa.
He said as he swimming he heard his friend crying for help but when he checked he saw some blood on the water while people on the shores were shouting at me to get out.
"I swarm back to the shore but my friend whose hand had been cut off by the shark was still trying swim to the shore," said Mustafa.
He said as his friend was struggling to swim to the shore the shark struck again and went away with one leg.
Mustafa said since there was no way he could be rescued the man remained afloat for sometimes before the shark struck again and swallowed him.
