Balconies are becoming the new living spaces. They deserve more attention than we give them!
The ideal balcony should be a representation of the owners’ lifestyle and should be equipped with the things that they love to do -- not storage space for unused bicycles and water drums.
Here, we show you how to bring your balcony to what a modern day balcony should looks like.
Tuft grass
Artificial grass is a quick way to magically grow grass on your balcony. Get tufted grass laid to fit in your balcony space.
You can choose from different grades of grass depending on your budget. The good thing about tuft grass is you can move with it.
Glass barricade
Install a glass barricade instead of heavy metal grills to create a modern look to an outdated balcony. Glass gives an endless illusion that is perfect because balconies appear tight already.
Fabric awning
Want more shade? Get an additional awning made from outdoor fabric. You can have screws installed to hook the fabric on whenever is needed and bring it down when not in use.
A permanent awning would only be possible for a home without residents regulations (also, your downstairs neighbour might not be happy when rain water drips into their balcony).
Outdoor rug
Outdoor rugs bring the décor game of your balcony to almost A-class. Get a rug in any colour and shade that works well with your balcony space and size.
Furniture and plants
Bistro tin furniture is small and helps save on space. A round table with collapsible chairs in a sunny yellow or bright blue would make your space look retro and relaxed.
Cement-moulded furniture are also easy DIY projects you can try. A few potted plants will also add magic to an otherwise bland space.
Moroccan tiles
If you can do tile installation, consider Morrocan tiles to add visual tiles. Moroccan tiles give any space pizzaz that you do not get with regular tiles.
The plus is you get to feel like you are on vacation every time you sit in your balcony.
What is worse: a fake smile or a grumpy face?
