For most of us, it’s impossible to concentrate at work or school while thinking about that hot mug of cocoa we left on the kitchen counter.

Although research shows that it’s not necessarily the most important meal of the day, it’s always a good idea to have some breakfast before you step out.

Some people are able to skip breakfast entirely but this isn’t the same for kids especially those who are of school going age. It can be difficult for them to be attentive in class when they’re functioning on an empty stomach.

The best breakfast meals for your kids are those that are healthy and full of vitamins. These are foods that can give them enough energy and help them be more attentive.

Also, the meals should be easy for you to prepare because usually there isn’t much time to spare before they have to get going.

Here is a list of healthy breakfast meals you can prepare for them.

i.Whole grain bread and ginger tea

You might be used to the usual white bread and tea routine. There is nothing wrong with that but, there aren’t too many nutrients they can get from that.

Add an interesting twist to that by getting whole grain bread and ginger spice for their tea.

Whole grain bread has a higher nutritional value and ginger is great for immunity. This will ensure that they’re not just consuming empty carbs.

ii.Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes are delicious and nutritious. They’re also easy to prepare thus making them one of the best breakfast meals for your kids.

They are rich in fiber and vitamins that are good for eyesight. Prepare them traditionally by boiling them or cook them with some mild spices if you’d like to switch it up once in a while.

iii.Eggs

These are a great source of proteins and there are literally so many breakfast dishes you can prepare with them.

They’re an all-time breakfast staple because you could choose to make plain fried eggs, omelets, toasted or even boiled.

iv.Breakfast stir-fry

Vegetable stir-fry isn’t only for dinner or lunch. It’s a great breakfast option that’s filling and packed with all the good vitamins. Mix some veggies like carrots, broccoli and mushrooms.

If you don’t have much time to prepare this in the morning, just make some at night and serve that for breakfast.

v.Banana pancakes

You could also make some simple banana pancakes with two eggs, a banana and some baking powder. You won’t have to spend time mixing flour, sugar, milk and all those other ingredients with this type of pancake.

All you need to do is mash the banana into a paste, mix in the egg, sprinkle some baking powder for fluffiness and make the pancake. It’s so quick and easy.

vi.Avocado sandwich

This is another delicious breakfast recipe that your kids will enjoy. It’ll give that extra nutritional value and you can even add some ham, tomatoes and other ingredients depending on their preference.

vii.Healthy cereal

Kids love cereal for breakfast. Although they love those types that are packed with sugar, they don’t really have any benefits. These days, companies have come up with breakfast cereals that are tasty and healthy.

There’s chocolate whole grain cereal and other interesting flavors that kids will appreciate.

viii.Peanut butter toast

Peanut butter spread has quite a number of health benefits. It’s a source of proteins and healthy fats which will give your kids an energy boost for the day.

If they like berries or bananas on their peanut butter toast, add some.

ix.Healthy fruit smoothies

This is another great breakfast idea if your child isn’t much of a breakfast fan. At least smoothies are more filling than just a plain cup of tea.

Research on different smoothie recipes or even get some ideas from them.
