Coronavirus cases are being reported all over the world.

If you catch the virus, it’s likely you’ll experience several unpleasant side effects, including a fever and a dry cough.

While there’s currently no specific treatment for the disease, there are several simple things you can do to manage your symptoms.

Speaking to Mirror Online, Dr Babak Ashrafi, a doctor at Zava UK, has revealed his top tips for managing coronavirus symptoms.

He explained: “It’s important to note that there is currently no specific treatment for coronavirus: typical solutions like antibiotics, which are used to treat bacterial infections, are not effective in curing the condition.

“All discussions of medications for COVID-19 focus on managing symptoms rather than curing it outright.

“When looking at over the counter remedies, sufferers should steer away from anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen: studies have shown these drugs might dampen your body’s immune response to a respiratory infection, and so lead to more severe illness.

“But painkillers like paracetamol can be effective in managing symptoms, such as a high fever.

“Getting plenty of rest and staying hydrated can also help your body to fight the virus. If you’re deficient in sleep it can be harder for your body to battle coronavirus and make your symptoms feel worse.

“If you have a sore throat, you can ease it by eating soft or cool foods, and again paracetamol can help. If you have a high temperature you should drink enough so that your urine is clear and pale in colour to prevent dehydration.”

If you could choose any age, to stay in for the rest of your life, which would it be?
