Last week we learned how to clean prawns. Today let’s learn how to cook them in a very simple way with some coconut cream and serve with some plain white rice. Prawns usually cook fast and the last thing you want is to eat overcooked prawns as they tend to become elastic which isn't a nice feeling when chewing. Follow my simple steps and have your meal ready in 15 minutes.
Ingredients needed:
250g peeled Prawns 1 onion sliced 1 teaspoon garlic ginger paste Juice of two lime 100g coconut cream 1 tomato diced 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder Salt to taste 1 tablespoon Oil for frying Handful of Coriander choppedSTEPS
In a hot non-stick frying pan, add the oil and onions. Sauté until onions become soft, add the prawns and continue to sauté until they turn orange in color and begin to curl. Add the garlic ginger paste, continue to sauté for about 3 minutes then add the diced tomatoes, turmeric powder, lime juice, salt to taste and finally the coconut cream. Bring to a boil until the sauce becomes very thick and coats the prawns. Remove from heat and add some coriander on top. Serve over some plain white rice and enjoy.
