Four ways to grow your talent

Talent is an innate ability or gift that a person possesses. These abilities can range from communication skills, computer knowhow, public speaking, writing, sports to creative.

While talent can be hard to spot, it is not impossible to be realized. Rule of thumb is an activity that one can do incredibly well, without much effort and one that gives satisfaction while doing.

Talent can be used to make money but to use talent to serve is even greater therefore it is important to nurture possessed gifts.

Exposure: Get exposed to people who have the same ability and talent. This can be an organization, a work group, a support group or even school group. Interacting with people of similar interests help in practicing, socializing and getting tips on bettering the gifts possessed.

Practice: Practice will help perfect the skills possessed. With exposure, one gets to know where to practice, for example writing for a website or even singing in church. Accept to do with little or no pay when starting.

Believe in yourself: Challenges do come up in life therefore self-belief  and confidence is important. Take positive criticism and change for the better. Dealing with negative and non-supportive people can be a downer but there are more opportunities on the way.

Mentor: Having a mentor is a positive thing. A mentor will help in advising on the path to follow. They have been there before so they would know the pitfalls to avoid and the opportunities to grab.
