Msitu huo ulio na idadi kubwa ya miti ya kiasili na ile ya kale ulipokea shilingi millioni 28.4 kutoka kwa wakfu wa kijamii wa Maendeleo Trust Fund kwalengo la kuboresha mazingira hasa baada ya miti kadhaa kukatwa kiholela. Usimamizi wa fedha hizo ulitolewa kwa mradi wa Lembus utakaowaleta pamoja wadau husika na jamii kwa ujumla lengo kuu ikiwa ni kuhifadhi mazingira.
