Woman roughs up lover for neglecting their baby

A woman in Mwembe town, Kisii County roughed up a man she allegedly claimed to have fathered her child and was on the run to Kisumu.

“He fathered my child and now he is leaving for Kisumu without considering how I will cater for the kid” said Moraa.

The Sunday morning incident occurred along Daraja Mbili market attracting the public to the scene.

According to the estranged woman Mary Moraa, the man he had been having an affair with for a year now had changed since she gave birth and was now playing hide and seek with her.

“Since I gave birth, the man has not been providing upkeep for the child and has even refused to pick my calls” claimed Moraa.

Her lover who she says was on the ran refuted those claims saying that Moraa was out to taint his image,  he said he has been providing for the new-born child and even rented a house for them at Mwembe town.

“This woman is spreading lies, I have been catering for the child and even rented her a house at Mwembe town” claimed Mokaya.

The disagreement ensued escalating into a heated debate. The passengers and the driver in the matatu the man was travelling in were left speechless as the two embattled parties exchanged words. It took the intervention of police officers who were on patrol to endthe 30 minute scuffle that had brought many activities in the town to a standstill.

Confirming the incident, Kisii police boss Simon Kiragu condemned the act saying that men who will be found having neglected their families will be arraigned in court.

“I want to warn those men who are neglecting their families, once caught we will arraign them in court for escaping their responsibilities” said Kiragu.
