The Kenya Urban Roads Authority on Friday announced that a section of Outer Ring Road will be closed on Sunday, October 6, 2019, from 6am-6pm.
According to a statement seen by Ureport, traffic between Mutindwa Junction and Jogoo Road will be partially affected.
KURA stated that there will be an installation of a footbridge near Tena Estate and all motorists and pedestrians were asked to approach the area with caution.
“Motorists are advised to take precaution while approaching the area and follow the respective signs provided.
“Traffic Marshals will be on site to guide and provide alternative routes during the installation period,” read the statement.
For a while, those living along Outer Ring have asked for a footbridge to cross to either side.
Although one was erected at Mutindwa, it is still not enough considering the high population in the area.
Outer Ring Road has eased transport in Eastlands and serves to connect Thika Road users to the Eastern bypass.
The development has also led to the creation of new routes between Allsops and North Airport Road.
