Police in Tigania, Meru county, are hunting for a man suspected to have run over five people and proceeded to stab one man to death.

According to the area OCPD Peter Karanja, Joshua Kireru drove to the market and ran over traders who were selling vegetables leaving them injured.

He then got out of his car and went over to Kamanoro where he stabbed a man to death and threatened onlookers using the knife.

Police sources report that he had been arrested earlier and arraigned for injuring camels and is expected to appear before court on November 3.

Karanja added that the man complained of being threatened by the camel owner.

“He got into his vehicle, a Probox, at around 5.30 pm, went to the market and ran over people who were selling vegetables.

“Yesterday (Monday) he complained of being threatened by the camel owner.

“He went wild, brandishing a knife to everyone. We are still looking for him,” said the OCPD.

Tigania area residents are now in fear of their lives as they don’t know where and when the wild man will show up.
