Nick Ruto, son of Deputy President William Ruto, over the weekend asked the government to invest heavily in projects that support the youth.

Speaking during a sports function organized by businessman Mohammed Abdalla at Kwa Jomvu Primary School in Mombasa, Nick stated that the youth can change Kenya’s fortunes if they are well-guided.

“Sports events uplift the youth and people in leadership will be able to trust us.

“The leadership should take responsibility and come out to speak to the youth on how to get focused in life,” he said.

Adding: “The government should come up with ways in which they can support initiatives like this to eliminate any problems in society.”

Abdalla, on his part, stated that many young people were dying due to drug related complications and it was time to change that narrative.

Nick, who was recently admitted to the bar by Chief Justice David Maraga, is said to be sharpening his claws ahead of a possible stab at politics.
