According to data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, 4,107 women underwent sterilisation bilateral tubal litigation while 557 men underwent sterilisation vasectomy.

Also, 2.6 million women took family planning injections, retaining it as the most used method of contraception, and 1.1 million clients took implant insertions.

In the period under review, the number of adolescents aged between 10-19 years presenting with pregnancy at 1st antenatal visit reduced by 35.4 percent to 15,043 in 2022. According to the survey, more women aged between 45 to 49 years have undergone permanent sterilization, followed by those aged 40 to 44 years then those aged 35 to 39 years old.

In men, those aged 40 to 49 years are the highest takers of permanent vasectomy.
